Description
SS 304 (AISI 304/EN 1.4301) is the standard austenitic “18/8” stainless steel known for good corrosion resistance, formability, and hygiene, widely used in food equipment, chemical processing, architecture, and fasteners.
Typical main elements (wt% ranges): Cr 17.5–19.5, Ni 8.0–10.5, C ≤0.08, Mn ≤2.0, Si ≤1.0; Fe balance, with P ≤0.045 and S ≤0.03 kept low for weldability.
